Front Desk Clerk
OVERVIEW
Performs various functions for hotel guests to include answering questions and check-in, check-out functions. Must be familiar with resort activities and lodging packages, AAA, and Springmaid Beach standards.
KEY Functions
- Ensures guest satisfaction and uses good judgment with questions and concerns from guests
- Understands and utilizes the property management system to check guests in and out
- Responsible for posting basic guest charges
- Must be able to understand and explain a guest pay folio to the guest
- Must be able to understand the procedure for shift bank and all associated accounting procedures for cashing in and out
- Responsible for providing quality guest service following AAA and Springmaid Beach Resort standards
- Must be able to answer telephones and handle routine guest requests for information or service
- Performs all other duties as required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Working knowledge of Property Management Systems
- Knowledge of AAA guidelines
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of other departments in the hotel
- Able to work a variety of shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical work and involves standing most of the time. May involve walking or sitting for brief periods of time. Must be able to lift/carry weights of five to ten pounds.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by one year of experience in customer service, preferably in a hotel environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
