Laundry Attendant
OVERVIEW
Under regular supervision; responsible for sorting, washing, drying, folding, ironing, dispensing all hotel linen, running calls for and to the guests, servicing and cleaning of rooms. Reports to the Laundry Supervisor and the Executive Housekeeper.
KEY FUNCTIONS
- Launders all hotel linen
- Loads and unloads all washer extractors in the manner prescribed by the supervisor
- Maintains chemical laundry products and ensures the proper dispensing of chemicals to the washer extractor
- Vacuum lint traps from dryers daily
- Maintains clean and organized work area
- Operates washer, dryer, towel folder, and vacuum; uses cleaning supplies
- Exercises care and safety in the use of equipment and materials required to complete assigned tasks
- Run calls to the guests/buildings in a timely manner
- Reports maintenance requirements to appropriate staff person
- Performs related duties as required
- Use two-way radio communications

- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor, co-workers, and guests
- Ability to maintain customer focused, positive, team-approach effective working relationships with supervisor, co-workers, and guests
- Able to work a variety of shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to exert up to fifty pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, or otherwise move objects
- Must be able to stand up to 8 hours
- Must be able to walk and climb stairs
- Must be able to bend, reach, etc., to clean and service rooms
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Requires a high school diploma, supplemented by some laundry/housekeeping experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
- Valid South Carolina driver's license required to operate property vehicles
