Reservations Agent
Position summary
Under regular supervision, process group and individual reservations for the Hotel. Provides quality customer service. Performs related clerical duties as required.
Position responsibilities
- Receives and processes group and individual reservations.
- Books reservations; collects reservation deposits; prepares confirmation and cancellation notices; prepares all necessary paperwork
- Notes special arrangements for handicapped customers
- Responds to questions and enters reservations and booking information into computer system
- Posts payments to individual accounts; prepares bank deposits
- Answers the telephone; greets and assists visitors and potential clients. Receives and responds to customer inquiries and complaints regarding reservations and services
- Performs routine clerical duties as required, including typing reports and correspondence, preparing mail, copying and filing documents, faxing information, collating materials, etc.
- Operates a variety of equipment such as a computer, printer, postage machine, calculator, fax machine, copier, telephone, etc.
- Interacts and communicates with immediate supervisor, co-workers, potential clients, clients, and the general public.
Essential SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by one to two years of experience in customer service or general clerical work, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Good time management skills, ability to prioritize
- Above average customer service skills
- Strong Computer skills

- Physical requirements: Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines including a computer, basic office equipment, telephone, etc. Must be able to exert up to five pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Must be able to lift/carry weights of five to ten pounds.
- Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
