Frequently Asked Questions about SMG Talent Academy
Please contact us [Link to contact us page]to discuss your specific program requirements. Someone will be in touch with you as soon as possible.
Do you offer on-site training?
Yes, all our courses can be delivered at your facility or built into your off-site corporate retreat. We also have training space available at our Toronto office and can accommodate up to 20 people per session. We recommend on-site training for organizations with groups of 13 or more participants.
My organization is very unique; will you customize the program for us or is it “off the shelf”?
All corporate courses can be tailored to address your unique organizational environment. During our initial needs analysis we will work closely with you and your team to identify the unique needs of your organizational culture and the outcomes required in order to provide you with a solid return on investment.
Will the program last? Are the results sustainable?
Our programs help the individual design strategies to improve performance and become more professionally and personally effective. Our unique approach to self-management taps into the individual’s internal motivations; they are “inside-out” rather than “outside-in”. This approach leads to personal ownership of the improvement process and creates deep levels of commitment, accountability, and responsibility.
Our clients consistently tell us that their only regret is that they didn’t take the program years ago. You may never look at the role you play in your organization the same way again!
Some of our programs are also available in a modularized e-learning format to help keep the knowledge alive.
What are the rates?
We offer competitive prices for all programs. Note that additional fees may apply depending on the level of required customization, location, and group size.
Please speak with one of our training sales representatives to obtain a detailed proposal. Rates are based on group size and program length. Site licensing is also available.
How will we know if your programs work or are effective?
A very important factor of our programs is our ability to measure the impact and ROI of our workshops. We have a group of top business statisticians that measure outcomes and provide organizations with measured quantified return on investment.
How long are your programs?
Our programs can be delivered in hourly modules, half day, full day, or multi-day programs. Your account representative will work with you to determine the appropriate mix required to meet your goals and provide you and your organization with a solid return on investment.
Can I sit in on a program to see if it would be right for my organization? Do you offer pilot pricing?
Every quarter we offer a discounted open enrollment for the Managing Effort: Getting Results program.
Many of our clients send new managers to these sessions to get them up to speed if they have joined their ranks after the delivery of one of our custom on-site programs. The open enrollment program is a great way to for potential clients to test drive the program and to talk to other clients about their organization’s experience with the program.
Do you offer train-the-trainer programs?
Yes, we are constantly training people on how to deliver our programs in-house. We typically deliver the first one and then co-deliver the program until your in-house trainer feels comfortable delivering the content on their own and is fully certified. Each trainer is provided with a comprehensive leader’s guide, a frame-able SMG trainer certification, and a textbook.
Do you provide certifications or certificates of completion?
Each participant receives a frame-able certificate of completion upon successful completion of the program.
Who will facilitate my program?
Each Self Management Group program is delivered by an expertly trained and certified member of the SMG team with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
Who should participate in the program?
Our research indicates that the #1 core competency common of all successful people at any level of an organization is the ability to self-manage. Self-managers survive in all cultures and organizations, and excel in cultures that promote individual responsibility and new innovation.
Everyone can benefit from becoming a more consciously competent self-manager. Our programs are effective for leaders, coaches, and individual contributors.
Our approach and ability to work at all levels creates a common management philosophy that leads to the development of a high performance culture where commitments are consistently made and kept, and individuals hold themselves responsible for their performance and accountable for their results.
