The purpose of this Job Description is to provide a thorough overview of the duties and responsibilities required by this position. General Job Summary

Responsible for keeping property grounds clean by walking property and picking up trash.

Essential Job Functions

  • Clean Property Grounds
    • Walk all property grounds and pick up trash.
    • Pick up any trash that is left in trash receptacle area.
    • Pick up trash that is in the parking lots.
    • Pick up trash that is in the common grassy areas.
    • Pick up trash on city sidewalks, curbs and streets that are not maintained by the city.
    • Assist during winter will salting, shoveling and general clean up of sidewalks, stairs and other common areas
  • General Site Duties
    • Check-in with Supervisor at the beginning and end of each shift
    • Assist Residents in a respectful and professional manner
    • Alert Supervisor to any maintenance or safety concerns observed
  • Additional Duties
    • Grounds keeper maybe asked to help out while caretakers are vacation if needed where they would be assisting with cleaning buildings and doing turns.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities

    • None

    Knowledge & Skills Required

    • Use of a shovel
    • Use of a snowblower
    • Understanding of state statutes and fair housing laws applicable to multi-family
    • Communities and property management companies- Will train if needed.

    Physical Demands

    • Walking, climbing stairs and ladders, bending to pick-up debris, twisting/turning, reaching, pushing, pulling and handling to perform cleaning duties, lifting up to 35 pounds
